Cordon, Alfred, Bishop of the Willard Ward, Box Elder Stake, Utah, from 1859 to 1871, was born Feb. 28, 1817, near Liverpool, England, the son of Sampson and Myra Cordon. He was baptized in [1839] by David Wilding, labored as a local missionary in England for several years, emigrated to Nauvoo, Illinois, filled a second mission to Great Britain in 1848-1850, and located at Willard. In the fall of 1856 he was appointed presiding Elder of North Willow Creek Branch (now Willard), and became a Bishop of the Willard Ward in 1857.
