John Wainwright, Jr. was born in 1822 at Lengdolph, England. Margaret Aspey was born in 1833 at Wigan, England. They married and left from Benslam, Staffordshire County [sic Burslem, Staffordshire]  to join the Mormon colony at Salt Lake City. John taught one of the first schools and was also a pottery maker.
